The Bozzuto Group begins construction on mixed-use scheme in Washington
Published: 08-Oct-2012
US-based real estate developer The Bozzuto Group, in a joint venture with Southside Investment Partners and Giant Food, has commenced construction on a mixed-use scheme, called Cathedral Commons, in Washington DC.
Sprawling over a four-acre site, the Cathedral Commons is located on Wisconsin Avenue between Macomb Street and Idaho Avenue in Northwest Washington, DC. Designed by JCA Architects, the project will offer 137 apartments, eight townhomes, 128,000 square feet of retail, and more than 500 parking spaces, which will be developed across two blocks.
The scheme will be developed around a Giant Food grocery store. The new Giant Food location will be a 56,000 square feet facility, which will accommodate full-service floral, bakery, meat, seafood, and deli departments and an expanded offering of fresh produce, natural, organic, and gluten-free products as well as international items space. The building will also house other retail units.
The amenities for the residents of Cathedral Commons include a boutique hotel-style lobby, lounge areas and library, fitness centre, clubroom, conference room, and residential courtyards.
The project is scheduled for delivery in late 2014 and will entail an investment of $130 million.
