Swanky Maison designs home and kitchen accessories
Published: 31-May-2010
UK-based online boutique Swanky Maison has launched a new collection of hand crafted home wares and kitchen accessories at its online store.
The collection includes ceramic tableware, tea cozies, handmade jewelry and original artwork from small producers and upcoming designers. ‘Union Jack cushions’ from Karen Hilton, which is a part of this collection, incorporates quirky design and bright colors to create a twist on a British design classic. They retail at GBP36.00 ($52).
Egg cozies from the Charlotte Macey Textiles range incorporates fresh and quintessentially English designs to create handmade and kitchen accessories. They use locally sourced fabrics and are priced at GBP6 ($9) each. Tea and cafetiere cozies are also available.
The collection of tealight holders by Caroline Green Pottery is made using hand thrown porcelain, finished in translucent glazes to create subtle hues that enhance the beauty of the material. These handcrafted tea-light holders are priced at GBP12 ($17).
Another major item in the collection is Bolt Hole Art’s sculptured pictures, which use reclaimed slate tiles to frame and form the base of the pictures of trees. The artist Naomi Mumford has created these pieces inspired by the surrounding winter countryside. These retail for GBP75 ($108.35).
This new venture has been created by Emma Sharman and Cath Harrison.
