Starmark plans to open new stores

Published: 03-Nov-2009

Starmark Co, a Thailand-based manufacturer of kitchen fittings, plans to open three kitchen furniture outlets in Bangkok and upcountry in 2010.

As part of its plan to boost sales by 15%, Nantana Srisakulpinyo, the managing director was reported stating that one branch would be in the Crystal Design Centre on Pradit Manutham Road in Bangkok and the next two in new HomePro stores upcountry.

The company has also launched the ‘New Hygienic Thai Kitchen 2010’ series, which offers three models starting at THB25, 000 ($747) a square meter. Aiming to increase the proportion of retail sales to 45% next year, Starmark has to increase its network to 48 branches from 45 now, which will require more than THB30 million ($896,861) next year.

Srisakulpinyo was reported stating that they cannot estimate the exact cost for next year, because they are negotiating branch size with the Crystal Design Centre, which may cost more than THB10 million ($298,954), which is the normal budget for opening a branch.
