Lovell to redevelop housing project in North-West Wales

Published: 08-Feb-2013

UK-based homebuilder Lovell Partnerships Limited has secured a £17 million ($26.65 million) contract from the Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd Cyf (CCG) for a housing improvement scheme in Gwynedd, North-West Wales.

Set to begin in April 2013, the project includes £6 million ($9.40 million) major refurbishment of the 73 prefabricated reinforced concrete Airey houses for CCG.

The refurbishment will involve building external walls and carrying out structural repairs and re-roofing. Apart from that it also includes the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, windows, doors, central heating, decoration, and external works.

To bring its homes up to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard, in May 2013, the project will commence £11 million ($17.24 million) improvements to just over 1,400 homes, which will replace kitchen and bathrooms, upgrade electrical standards, improve plumbing and heating systems and install new floor and wall tiling.

The improvement work is set to be completed by October 2014.
