Arabtec to develop Fairmont hotel and serviced apartments project in Abu Dhabi
Published: 20-Feb-2013
UAE-based construction company Arabtec Constructions LLC has been awarded a contract by the National Investment Corporation (NIC) to develop the Fairmont Abu Dhabi hotel and service apartments scheme in Abu Dhabi, which is designed by Dewan Architects and Engineers.
Located near Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, the new project will cost more than Dh1 billion ($0.27218 billion). Sprawling over 155,000 square meters, the scheme will be a 39-storied tower with 178,000 square meters of total built-up area.
Upon completion, the scheme will feature 563 rooms and 249 apartments, 13 food and beverage outlets and 1,394 parking lots. Most of the guest rooms will be designed to offer unobstructed views of the Corniche and the skyline of Abu Dhabi city.
Under the contract, Arabtec will build the hotel and apartments, maintain the project for one year, and maintain electro-mechanical works for two years after completion and delivery to the National Investment Corporation.
The project is expected to be completed within 30 months.
